GC Appointments

Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) hired Marschall Smith as general counsel, senior vice president and secretary. Smith comes to ADM from 3M Co., where he spent nearly five years as SVPof legal affairs and general counsel. He also has held general counsel posts at Brunswick Corp., Digitas Inc. and IMC Global Inc.


Kim Rucker, former general counsel and chief compliance officer of Avon Products Inc., is leaving the beauty company for Kraft Foods Group Inc., where she will serve as general counsel, corporate secretary and executive vice president of corporate and legal affairs. Rucker previously was SVP, corporate secretary and chief governance officer for Energy Future Holdings and a partner in the corporate and securities group at Sidley Austin.

George Gulf Corp. announced the appointment of Timothy Mann, Jr. as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Mann previously was a partner at Jones Day, where he focused on public and private sector mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
