GC Appointments

Edward Lazarus is now general counsel of the Tribune Co. From 2009 to February 2012, Lazarus served as chief of staff at the Federal Communications Commission, where he oversaw policy development. Lazarus previously was a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld—where he chaired the firm's national litigation steering committee—and a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles.

Chrysler Group named Marjorie Loeb senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Loeb previously spent two years as an assistant general counsel for the auto company. Before joining Chrysler, she was assistant general counsel and secretary for corporate securities at Delphi Automotive Systems and a principal at the law firm of Miro Weiner & Kramer. She replaces outgoing GC Holly Leese, who is retiring after 33 years with the company.


Anne Troutman was appointed general counsel of the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory. Troutman joined the lab in March 2010 as deputy general counsel. Her prior work experience includes stints at General Electric Co., Arthur D. Little and the Battelle Memorial Institute.

Independent futures brokerage R.J. O'Brien & Associates promoted Melissa Andrews to general counsel. Andrews has served as the company's associate general counsel since late 2010 and also sits on the Futures Industry Association's Law & Compliance Division Executive Committee. She previously was an associate at Hogan Lovells and SNR Denton.
