GC Appointments

Roanoke College selected G. Michael Pace as its inaugural general counsel, effective July 1. From 1999 to 2012, Pace served as the managing partner of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore. He currently serves as an adjunct professor in Roanoke's public affairs department, and is also a former president of the Virginia Bar Association.

Dean Breda joined Interactions Corp. as general counsel. Breda comes to the tech company from ZipCar, where he served as general counsel for three years. He has also acted as GC at companies including Demandware, VistaPrint and StorageNetworks. Before going in-house, Breda was an attorney at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault.

Alesia Pinney is now general counsel of Avalara, a provider of sales tax and compliance automation services. Pinney's prior work experience includes stints as the general counsel of drugstore.com, InfoSpace Inc. and—most recently—Radiant Global Logistics Inc. She previously worked at Perkins Coie, where her practice focused on corporate finance.
