Go Daddy's former general counsel is eyeing a political gig.

Christine Jones, GoDaddy.com, LLC's inaugural GC, announced recently that she intends to formally enter the 2014 race for Arizona governor on the Republican side.

“I took a fair amount of time to carefully consider whether to do this,” Jones told the Arizona Capitol Times. “And having traveled the state and talked to people from all four of the corners, it's clear to me that Arizona can use the type of leadership that I hope to offer.”

Last year, Jones announced her retirement after 10 years with the domain name registrar and web services firm. During her tenure as Go Daddy's executive vice president, GC and corporate secretary, Jones regularly represented the company at congressional hearings, notably during the 2011 hearings on the Stop Online Piracy Act.
