Davies Arnold Cooper's (DAC) former managing partner Laurence Messer has been acquitted of four charges of conspiracy to defraud.

The revelation coincides with news of the departure of DAC's insurance insolvency team to Dibb Lupton Alsop – and the massive, but unrelated, shake-up at the firm, which was reported last week by Legal Week.

The charges against Messer related to a scam where property developers formed shell companies to buy properties in London on the open market.
