The head of Clyde & Co's energy team is leading an audacious bid to oust the management of listed oil company Premier.

Dr Peter Felter, an equity partner at Clydes and a Danish international lawyer, is seeking election to Premier's board, along with a team that includes the former worldwide operations manager of Premier and Viscount Cranborne, the former Tory leader in the House of Lords.

If the bid is successful, Felter will resign from 79-partner Clydes and become chief executive officer of the company.
