Herbert Smith has selected US-based Interface's Interaction contact management system for use by its staff of 750.
The software will be used to keep track of the firm's client relationships and individual contacts by use of a database and will run on Microsoft NT and SQL Server.
Herbert Smith's IT department claimed that Interaction was the better product in a narrow market and that it had confidence in the product because of its use by several firms in the US where it is more established. The firm called its investment in Interaction "significant", but would not reveal
figures.
The firm said it hoped to have the system installed by the end of the year, and would begin training its staff on it soon thereafter.
Lovell White Durrant, Berwin Leighton, Olswang, SJ Berwin & Co, Memery Crystal, Bristows and Travers Smith Braithwaite recently began implementing Interaction. Southampton's Lamport Bassitt has been using the system for three years.
