Denton Hall advised Petronas, the national oil and gas company of Malaysia which is wholly owned
by the Malaysian Government, on its agreement
to subscribe with Amerada Hess, the oil exploration company. The deal was for a total of £136m for new shares in UK-based Premier Oil. Dentons also advised on the creation of a strategic alliance between three companies to establish an independent oil and gas exploration company. Corporate partner Steven Goodman led the team. Corporate partner Richard Bond from Herbert Smith advised Amerada Hess. Slaughter and May, which was led by corporate partner Charles Randall, advised Premier Oil.
