CMS Cameron McKenna has relaunched its Hong Kong banking practice by hiring a senior lawyer from Allen & Overy (A&O).
Suzanne Pearson, who moved to Hong Kong in January after three years at A&O's Singapore office, will join Camerons on 6 November.
Camerons' banking team in Hong Kong was left without a head of department when partner Julian Ogley returned to the firm's capital markets practice in London in June.
Camerons' senior partner for Asia, Christopher Clarke, said: "Now things are picking up here, we are fairly optimistic that there will be lots more corporate lending."
Pearson, who will be supported by assistants Florence Tse and Yo-hann Tan, is expected to work closely with the projects and debt restructuring teams.
Camerons has also hired Allen Allen & Hemsley lawyer Mark Badger as a construction partner.
Camerons' Hong Kong office will now have 11 partners and 30 other fee earners. The expansion was kick-started by the arrival of Clarke and IP partner Janine Canham from Denton Hall in July last year.
In August the firm moved corporate partner Chris Southorn from London and made up two local partners, Dora Chow and Prudence Mitchell.
