Norton Rose acted for Scottish Power on its acquisition of Powergen's 715 MW Rye House power station for £220m. The proposed acquisition is subject to several conditions, including regulatory approval.

DJ Freeman acted for Glenchewton on its proposed reverse takeover by i-spire corporation, which values i-spire at £74.7m. I-spire is a holding company that has investments in internet-related companies operating in internet infrastructure, travel/leisure/music and e-marketing. DJ Freeman's team was led by corporate partner Graham Barber.

Allen & Overy, led by corporate partner David Wootton, advised i-spire.

Gouldens advised Spring Group on its £71.9m disposal of the Spring Education and Spring Skills businesses to Protocol Associates. The proceeds will be used to invest in and expand Spring's core staffing and human resources in the UK and around the world.
