Leading chancery commercial set Wilberforce Chambers has hired Biddle's former practice manager Gareth Mason as its new chambers director.
Mason has been brought in to replace Suzanne Cosgrave at Wilberforce Chambers after she left to take up a senior executive role with the accountants Ernst & Young.
He is expected to start work at the end of May, almost two months after Cosgrave's departure.
His departure from Biddle has been prompted by its recent merger with Pinsent Curtis, although Pinsent Curtis Biddle London managing partner Martin Lane described the split as amicable.
He said: "We parted on good terms. Following our merger earlier this year, the support structure of the firm is different. Gareth felt he had had a wider role in the old Biddle, so he was understandably looking to move on."
Wilberforce Chambers received over 200 applications for the Lincoln's Inn-based post.
