Securities settlement system provider CrestCo has appointed Niul Dillon Hatcher as its general counsel.
Former assistant counsel at Coutts Group, Dillon Hatcher has taken over from Mark Kirby, who has moved into a new role as head of international policy.
A spokesman for CrestCo said that the appointment would not affect the company's relationship with primary adviser Travers Smith Braithwaite.
Dillon Hatcher will manage a team of four: three dealing with legal issues, one with compliance.
CrestCo offers the mechanism for settlement of UK, Irish and international securities trades, moving money and stock between buyer and seller.
It settles an average of 270,000 transactions daily with a value of about £200bn. In 2000, deals valuing £48.8 trillion provided the company with gross revenue of £87m – a 27% rise on 1999.
The expansion of the company prompted the need for a full-time position dealing with international policy, previously handled by Kirby along with his legal work.
