Nabarro Nathanson has acted for GE Capital on the joint venture acquisition of the Headrow Shopping Centre in Leeds for £47.25m – concluding £100m worth of transactions for the client in one month.
The Joint Venture Partnership was formed between GE and Hermes Property Asset Management (Hermes), on behalf of BT Pension Scheme, with each partner owning 50% of the shopping centre – which comprises 179,000 sq ft and 44 shops.
Partner Kevin Stimpson led the deal for Nabarros and Raymond Levine, a partner at Maxwell Batley, represented Hermes.
The valuable quartet of deals Nabarros has worked on for GE Capital included the creation of The Northern Portfolio Limited Partnership, worth £27.8m; The Bittern Limited Partnership, worth £13.1m and The Eagle Portfolio Limited Partnership, worth £16.5m. The deals are the latest evidence of the strength of Nabarros' corporate department.
Recent figures released by Mergermarket showed the firm advised on deals worth more than £3bn in the first half of this year, ranking it 14th above UK rival Simmons & Simmons, which ranked in 16th place advising on deals worth £2bn.
Among Nabarros' clients are Kingfisher Leisure, Alchemy Partners, Siemens and The Body Shop.
