Scottish market poised for second merger this year as Steedmans talks to Biggart Baillie

Glasgow firm Biggart Baillie is in merger talks with Edinburgh property specialist Steedman Ramage.
The 12-partner Steedmans has been linked with a number of other Scottish firms in recent months, but it is understood that discussions with the 24-partner Biggarts represents the most advanced bid the firm has considered.
"The firm's business plan includes a strategic growth plan, which involves looking at a variety of opportunities. We are currently reviewing several options available and will inform the media of any developments," a Biggarts spokes-man told Legal Week.
