CMS Cameron McKenna has completed a £3.5bn energy double advising BP and National Grid on two ground-breaking acquisitions in the oil, gas and electricity sectors.

On the first transaction, the firm advised BP on its £1.4bn disposal of the upstream oil and gas businesses of Veba Oil & Gas to Petro-Canada.

The BP disposal – which was conducted by way of auction – represents the largest single upstream opportunity to come onto the market since the sale of Arco Alaska in 2000.
