As a long-time fan of award ceremonies, The Diary can certainly not begrudge winners of legal awards a bit of well-earned gloating.
The magic of the ceremony, the chance for fine conversation at the gala dinner and, at legal awards, the worry that Lovells' Bob Kidby will play a guitar solo – it all adds up to a magical night.
But a special recognition has to go to those Brummie stalwarts at St Philip's Chambers, who are justly proud of their achievement in winning not one but two awards from major legal weeklies, of which The Diary's fine organ is, of course, included.
