Isn't the internet fab? How many of us have found long-lost friends and former colleagues by just typing a name into Google and clicking? It is even good for getting phone numbers that one has mislaid or when one cannot be bothered to search for a directory.
Which is why The Diary was quite surprised when, on typing the name of well-known Allen & Overy PR man Sean Twomey into the box a couple of weeks back, we discovered that he was not actually out of the office on his summer holidays, but residing in a Las Vegas jail.
Not only that, but he is lonely and looking for intelligent women who like contemporary jazz, thought-provoking novels and, er, criminals.
When he gets out, in January 2004, we are sure that Sean will be able to slip back seamlessly into the legal marketing world despite his criminal record. After all, even PRs should be allowed a second chance.
