Bell Gully, New Zealand's largest commercial law firm, is rolling out a document automation system from SpeedLegal.

The 250-partner firm will use the SmartPrecedent system to create automated precedents, initially for the lawyers in its financial services and property groups.

Don Staples, commercial director at Bell Gully, said: "We see document automation as a key enabler… we are able to deliver high quality documents much faster than before.

"As a result, our lawyers can spend more of their time focused on the business needs of our clients and much less time cutting, pasting and proof-reading documents."
