Sinclair Roche & Temperley has appealed against a landmark ruling that it sexually discriminated against two former salaried partners, which could see the legacy firm's equity partners personally liable for £300,000 each in damages.

The claim was brought by Sian Heard and Sian Fellows who both left Sinclair Roche at the time of its merger with Stephenson Harwood last year.

Both alleged that it was only their sex that prevented them from being promoted to equity partner status.
