Did you realise that an e-mail may, and frequently does, contain information which is not apparent in the printed form?
Such information, or metadata as it is known technically, could be highly material to the issues involved in a particular piece of litigation.
Approaching disclosure issues in the context of electronic data from first principles may point the way towards the solutions.
