For many years Eversheds has hosted an exclusive golf day (24 people the maximum allowed) at Royal West Norfolk Golf Club in Brancaster.

One of the unique features of the club is the fact that whenever the tide is more than eight metres (about six or seven times a month) the road from the village floods.

One of those days was Thursday week, which was, by unlucky coincidence, the Eversheds day.

Result: 12 cars stuck, six of which had to be taken away on low loaders, probably as write-offs – salt water is not good for smart electrics.

Apparently the most expensive was a £55k new Mercedes belonging to a client.

Rumours that Eversheds' next corporate event is being held at a breaker's yard are yet to be confirmed.
