DLA has hired a partner from the London arm of national rival Eversheds.
Reinsurance partner David Murphy will join DLA's City office later this year as part of the firm's insurance risk solutions team.
Murphy counts Eagle Star, Terra Nova and Royal & Sun Alliance among his clients and has also built up a Latin American practice.
"David's arrival is significant as we are broadening the contentious insurance practice at a senior level and this will allow us to maintain our insurance risks solution team's cutting edge in the market," said DLA head of litigation David Gray.
