US firm Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) has hired the chairman of the UK's Information Tribunal, John Angel, as a part-time consultant in its London technology transactions group.

Angel will continue acting as chairman of the Information Tribunal and will continue to hear appeals under the Freedom of Information Act, a role he was appointed to in late 2004 by the Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer.

Angel, who will have the title of senior of counsel at Mofo, was formerly head of online legal services at Clifford Chance where he developed client-facing legal services between 1999 and 2002. Prior to that he practised at legacy firm Theodore Goddard, now Addleshaw Goddard.
