Survey Shows Growing Mediation Numbers

A major trends survey by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution has confirmed that mediators continue to be drawn largely from the legal profession, with 57% being legally qualified. The survey found an estimated range of 2,500-2,700 mediations are taking place per year in the UK, an increase of 35% on two years ago. Average fees paid per mediation for intermediate mediators are £1,275 while 'top' mediators charge £4,000 per day.
