The Law Society has today (21 April) unveiled its new chief executive as Chancery Lane gears up for a year of post-Clementi upheaval in its executive and structure.

Desmond Hudson, chief executive of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, will take over later this year from Janet Paraskeva, who is set to leave this summer.

Hudson, also a former head of SMG Publishing and a managing director with the Britannia and Yorkshire Building Societies, is a qualified lawyer and was previously a partner with northwest firm Linder Myers.
