Weil Gotshal & Manges has deepened its relationship with private equity house Bridgepoint Capital, advising on its £320m sale of independent production company All3Media.

The US firm is acting for Bridgepoint on All3Media's acquisition by Permira with private equity partner Mark Soundy leading, assisted by fellow partner Marco Compagnoni and associates Maddy Dyer and Kate Lowes.

The deal marks the second major deal Weil Gotshal has advised Bridgepoint on, after it acted for the buy-out house on a $535m (£302m) bid for environmental Resources Management from 3i late last year.

Soundy first worked with Bridgepoint while at Travers Smith and he also acted for All3Media, the production house behind Hollyoaks and Richard & Judy, at his previous firm. Travers is the historical adviser to Bridgepoint, while Linklaters has also advised the private equity house.

Clifford Chance (CC) is acting for the acquirer, Permira, with corporate partner Simon Cooke leading a team which includes Permira relationship partner Matthew Layton. CC's head of media, Daniel Sandelson, also advised on media contracts work and broadcasting regulatory issues.

Sandelson commented: "This is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, independent production deals in the UK this year and it shows these businesses are significant in their own right now. It is an example of how regulatory changes can have positive effects on business. Independent production houses are increasingly powerful.

SJ Berwin is acting for the management team of All3Media with private equity partner Rob Day leading.
