Jones Day has bolstered its UK restructuring practice with the hire of Bingham McCutchen partner Andrew Rotenberg.

Rotenberg will join the firm's London office as a partner on 18 September. He left Bingham last week after nearly 10 years, including more than three years as a partner.

He becomes one of more than 100 lawyers in Jones Day's international business restructuring group and adds particular strength to the firm's practice representing bondholders and note holders in corporate restructurings in Europe, the UK, Asia and Latin America.

Rotenberg has been involved in insolvencies and restructurings including Mayflower, Jarvis, Cordiant and Transtec and his clients include insurance companies, pension funds, hedge funds and alternative investment vehicles.

He is dual-qualified and focuses on representing the interests of US clients in Europe and the interests of UK clients when they do business in the US.

Adam Plainer, head of restructuring at Jones Day London, said: "His excellent reputation in the bondholder and note holder community for acting on restructurings and work-outs will be a real asset to the firm."

Rotenberg will join Jones Day on the same day as Lovells employment partner Mark Taylor. Taylor handed in his notice at Lovells in the middle of June after being headhunted by Jones Day.
