Gibson Dunn & Crutcher's Paris office has recruited an eight-lawyer team from Paris boutique Veil Jourde, including respected corporate partner Ariel Harroch.

Harroch, who will join the US firm as a partner in the corporate practice, is accompanied by partner Marie-Charlotte Trebuchet, who will also join as a partner, and a further six associates. The team brings the number of lawyers working out of the top 50 US firm's Paris arm to 23.

Gibson Dunn Paris head Bernard Grinspan said: "Ariel and his team are a terrific addition, both professionally and personally.

"[The team] will enhance our capability to handle the largest and most complex M&A transactions for domestic and international clients from both our corporate and public law practice," he added.

Harroch has been at Veil Jourde since 1995 and was made a partner in 1999. He specialises in private equity.
