Skadden's London arm lands first instruction for US lender
CIT Group calls in Skadden and Addleshaws for acquisition; A&O leads for Barclays

Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom's London arm has landed its first instruction for CIT Group, advising the US commercial finance lender on its acquisition of some of Barclays' financing businesses for more than £1bn.
Skadden has previously advised the company in the US and more recently in Germany but this is the first agreed deal it has handled from London.
Corporate partner John Adebiyi is leading the Skadden team in London with Frankfurt corporate partner Matthias Horbach. The team also includes London tax partner Tim Sanders and Brussels competition partner Frederic Depoortere.
