Taylor Wessing has advised London & Regional Properties on securing Knight Frank as a tenant for London & Regional's redevelopment of the former Marks & Spencer headquarters in Baker Street, London. SJ Berwin corporate partners Michael Goldberg and Laura O'Neill and finance partner Nathan Briner advised The Westfield Group on the formation of a joint venture for the ownership of the Merry Hill shopping centre near Birmingham in a transaction worth around £1bn. Westfield was advised on property aspects by Berwin Leighton Paisner and on tax by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Lovells real estate head Bob Kidby advised the other joint venture party, Queensland Investment Corporation, along with Australian firm Freehills.
