LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae has hired bankruptcy partner Philippe Hameu as the US firm bags its sixth partner from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in recent months.

Hameau joins LeBoeuf after 10 years as a partner at the magic circle firm to develop the its Paris bankruptcy and corporate recovery practice. He will also handle litigation matters, particularly in the health and life sciences sectors.

Hameau joins LeBoeuf's six-partner Paris arm, which is headed by Yves Huyghe de Mahenge, himself a former Freshfields partner. A third Freshfields partner, Eric Scwartz, joined the firm last summer.

The hires come as the top 50 US firm continues to beef-up its London arm, with City-based Freshfields environment and real estate John Bowman, Graham Prentice and Paul Watchman also joining LeBouef in the summer.

Huyghe de Mahenge said: "Philppe's knowledge of bankruptcy and corporate restructuring fits in perfectly with the strategy of development for the Paris office."
