Paris boutique Veil Jourde has bolstered its litigation offering with the hire of Dubarry le Douarin Veil name partner Pierre-Francois Veil, who joined the firm at the beginning of the year.

Pierre-Francois Veil left Dubarry to join Veil Jourde at the end of 2006 after more than 20 years at the firm. He joins the boutique, where his brother is name partner, along with three associates. The move means Veil Jourde now has nine partners.

Pierre-Francois Veil founded Dubarry in 1984 along with Yann le Douarin. He specialises in arbitration and restructuring work.

Veil Jourde has made a number of hires in recent months, with fraud partner Emmanuel Rosenfeld switching from White & Case last November and Gide Loyrette Nouel senior associate Francois de Navailles joining the firm in October.

The appointment comes with Veil Jourde looking to regain the initiative after losing an eight-lawyer team – including rated corporate partner Ariel Harroch – to the Paris arm of top 50 US firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher last summer.
