Banking giant JP Morgan Chase generated the US move of the month by recruiting high-profile securities partner Stephen Cutler from top 50 US law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr.

Cutler takes on the role previously held by Joan Guggenheimer, who died in July last year.

He will also become executive vice president and head of worldwide legal and compliance at the bank when he takes up the role in February.

Cutler leaves the position as co-chair of securities in Wilmer Hale's Washington DC office, which he joined in 2005. Prior to that, he was director of the enforcement division at the US' highly influential market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission.
