Simmons & Simmons has strengthened its Paris offering with the hire of Morgan Lewis & Bockius partner Florence Guthfreund-Roland.

Guthfreund-Roland, who joined the firm with associate Elisabeth Marrache last month, specialises in telecommunications, internet, e-trade and personal data.

She was one of the founding partners of Morgan Lewis' Paris arm after joining with a 15-lawyer team from Paris banking leader De Pardieu Brocas Maffei & Leygonie in 2004.

The City firm now has around 70 lawyers in Paris, including 11 partners.

Simmons global head of TMT, David Barrett, said: "Florence joins the firm to reinforce our French TMT activity, one of our four key sectors. We have a fantastic client base and France is a key market."
