King & Spalding has more than doubled its City revenues for its last financial year, with the US firm posting London turnover of $21.88m (£11.16m) for 2006.

The result marks an increase of 135% on 2005, when the firm recorded revenues of just $8.6m (£4.4m). They also mark the second year running that the London office has been profitable.

The increase in London revenues comes as the Atlanta-based firm announced a 13% increase in firmwide turnover, with global fee income hitting $582.5m (£296.7m) for 2006. Profits per equity partner (PEP) also reached a new high, jumping 25% to a mark of $1.31m (£668,420).
