DLA Piper has advised McBride, a UK supplier of household and personal care products, on its £39.3m bid to acquire Chemolux from Henkel. Corporate partner Jonathan Watkins led the team at DLA Piper. Luxembourg soaps manufacturer Chemolux was advised by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton M&A partner William Groll.
Denton Wilde Sapte has acted for cosmetics company Pout and its shareholders on its acquisition by US private equity house Catterton Partners. Pout will be taken over by Chrysallis, part of Catterton Partners' portfolio of companies, for an undisclosed sum. The team at Dentons was led by M&A partner Jeremy Cohen, while Slaughter and May corporate partner Stephen Cooke acted for Catterton Partners.
Nabarro has advised Asfare Group on an agreement to acquire AssetCo Group, a provider of services to UK fire and rescue authorities, from Brook Henderson Group, John Shannon and his management team for £80.2m. It also advised on the company's associated placing, through Hoare Govett, to raise £20m. The Nabarro team was led by corporate partner Iain Newman. Simmons & Simmons corporate finance partner Gavin Weir advised Hoare Govett. Brook Henderson was advised in house.
Addleshaw Goddard has advised British Airways (BA) on the sale of its regional operations to Flybe to create a business of more than £500m in revenues, carrying nearly 10 million passengers a year. As part of the transaction, BA will acquire a 15% stake in Flybe. The team advising BA was led by corporate partners Andrew Rosling, Paul Devitt and Richard Thomas. Eversheds corporate partners Simon Masters and Hannah Kendrick advised Flybe. Norton Rose advised Flybe on aviation finance issues and Lane & Partners advised on competition issues.
