Two of Europe's leading independent firms have announced their latest round of partner promotions, with Italian leader Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners and Spanish giant Cuatrecasas each making up a clutch of new partners within the last month.
Gianni announced the promotion of seven lawyers to its partnership last month (21 February), bringing the total number of partners at the firm to 53.
The new partners are: Rome-based litigation lawyer Augusta Ciminelli; tax specialist Claudia Gregori; banking and finance lawyer Guido Iannoni Sebastianini; administrative lawyers Filippo Pacciani and Giuseppe Velluto; Milan-based employment lawyer Tommaso Li Bassi; and M&A lawyer Giovanni Marsili.
Meanwhile, Cuatrecasas also boosted its total partnership by more than 10%, after making up 21 new partners last week (16 March). The Spanish firm now has 193 partners in total. Two of the promotions came in the firm's Lisbon arm, while just one of the new partners – Eva Lasuncion Patus in Barcelona – is female.
The appointments follow the hire by Cuatrecasas last month of two new partners, Joan Hortala and Luis Murillo Jaso, to head groups within the tax and litigation teams respectively.
