- Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer corporate partners James Wood (London) and Matthew Herman (New York) led a team advising MACH, the clearing and settlement partner for mobile transactions, on its merger with CB Holdings. Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson Washington corporate partner Andrew Varney advised CB Holdings.
- DLA Piper corporate partner Jonathan Watkins and finance partner Simon Woolley have advised Castle Bidco on its £715m bid for property company Crest Nicholson. The consortium comprised HBOS and financier Sir Tom Hunter. Linklaters corporate partner Mark Stamp advised Crest Nicholson. Ashurst corporate head Adrian Clark and finance partner Mark Vickers acted for Castle Bidco's financial adviser, Rothschild.
- Harbottle & Lewis has advised Virgin Group on the sale of 90% of Virgin Books to The Random House Group. The deal sees Virgin retaining a 10% stake in the company. Fladgate Fielder advised Random House with corporate partner David Robinson and intellectual property partner Eddie Powell leading the team.
- Travers Smith has advised mobile phone content provider Monstermob Group on Spanish-based LaNetro Zed's £34m acquisition of a 52% stake in Monstermob. The team at Travers was led by corporate partners Spencer Summerfield and Richard Skelton. Linklaters advised LeNetro Zed with corporate partner Stephen Blackshaw leading.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
