Clifford Chance (CC), Benelux leader NautaDutilh and French M&A boutique Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier have bagged roles on the Netherlands' latest multibillion-euro M&A deal – the €11.2bn (£7.6bn) merger between Unibail and Dutch investment company Rodamco.

Nauta teamed up with Darrois to advise French property investment giant Unibai, while magic circle giant CC is advising Rodamco.

Nauta fielded an Amsterdam-based team headed by corporate partners Erik Hammerstein and Hein Hooghoudt, while Darrois corporate partners Alain Maillot, Herve Pisani and Didier Throphile led for the Paris firm.

Amsterdam corporate partner Thijs Alexander led the team for CC.

The deal comes with a clutch of UK and Continental advisers acting on the proposed £80bn merger between Barclays and ABN Amro, which was announced last month. Nauta is advising ABN, with Hooghoudt again playing a key role, while CC is acting on behalf of Barclays.

Other firms to have landed roles on the deal, which would see the combined business listed in London but headquartered in Amsterdam, include City giant Allen & Overy and Benelux leader Stibbe.
