Career Clinic: Help me escape my finance niche!
"I am a two-years' qualified lawyer in the structured finance department of a magic circle firm and am miserable being a tiny cog in a very large wheel. The work I do is highly specialised - and pretty dull. I am worried that my skills are becoming so niche I'll never be able to leave the department, without leaving the law altogether, which I don't want to do. Can anyone advise me on an exit route that will broaden my experience and therefore my appeal to other firms?
