Addleshaw Goddard has appointed dispute resolution partner Simon Kamstra as its new head of international arbitration, the national firm announced today (1 May).
The move puts Kamstra at the helm of a 40-lawyer team based across the firm's offices in Manchester, Leeds and London and comes in response to the group's expansion in recent months.
Kamstra will be responsible for furthering co-operation with Addleshaws' preferred international referral partners, attracting new business and promoting the firm's arbitration group to its existing top 30 international clients.
The arbitration team continued its growth with the hire of senior associate Jon Tweedale from Allen & Overy last month.
Commenting on his new role, Kamstra said: "Our strategy is to grow the substantial arbitration work we are involved in with sectors such as IT, telecommunications and energy power projects, as well as those involving specific business arrangements such as outsourcing and joint ventures."
Addleshaws contentious head Simon Twigden added: "Simon's appointment to this new role reflects the increasing importance of the firm's arbitration group to our business and our clients."
