Eversheds has boosted its Central and Eastern European (CEE) coverage after brokering a deal to add three new firms across the Baltic states to its international network.

The firms – Saladzius & Partners in Lithuania, Ots & Co in Estonia and Baltmane & Bitans in Latvia – previously comprised a venture dubbed the Baltic Legal Network. They all joined the Eversheds network on Tuesday (1 May).

The trio boast a total of 11 partners and 37 fee earners. Notable clients the network has advised include Berlin Chemie Menarini Group, Oracle, Siemens, Volvo and Solvay Pharma.

Eversheds chairman Alan Jenkins pointed to the region's fast economic growth as the main driver behind the tie-up.

The UK national giant has worked with the Baltic Legal Network on an informal basis for the last few years and already has a significant presence in the CEE region with affiliated offices in Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary and Poland.

The addition of the three firms takes the number of offices in the Eversheds international network to 32, including five – Brussels, Copenhagen, Doha, Paris and Shanghai – that are wholly owned by the firm.

The CEE region remains one of interest for UK firms. Last September Linklaters strengthened its Hungarian arm with the hire of corporate duo Adam Mattyus and Otto Daroczi from magic circle rival Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

Jenkins said: "The Baltic states are among the fastest-growing economies in Europe and are therefore becoming an increasingly important location for business."
