Baker & McKenzie has appointed intellectual property (IP) partner Marek Rosinski as its new Warsaw managing partner, the firm announced today (11 June).

Rosinski takes over the reins from corporate partner Thomas Ujajski, who relinquished the role last week (4 June) after just one year at the helm.

Ujajski, who is dual-qualified in Polish and English law and splits his time between Warsaw and London, would have been required to relocate to Poland permanently in order to retain the position. He returns to full-time fee earning.

Rosinski has been with the firm since the mid-1990s and heads the 14-strong Warsaw IP/IT practice. He focuses on outsourcing projects as well as copyright and trademark work.

Bakers' Warsaw arm opened in 1992 and now boasts over 100 lawyers, nine of whom are equity partners.

Other recent appointments by the firm include the London arm last month installing its first chief financial officer after hiring Arthur Ferry from City outfit CMS Cameron McKenna.
