FINANCE


Beachcroft (pictured) has advised Life Trust Holdings on a £25m raising of capital provided by JP Morgan, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and the DE Shaw Group. Head of financial institutions Nigel Frudd led the team. JP Morgan was advised by Linklaters, RBS by Macfarlanes and DE Shaw instructed Weil Gotshal & Manges.

Linklaters has advised Citi as arranger on a $102m (£51m) secured ship finance facility for the Fal Oil Shipping Group of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is Citi's first export credit agency-backed ship finance deal into the UAE. The team was led by finance partner Neil Harnby and managing associate Andrew Pirrie in London. Finance partner Tim Ross led the Linklaters team in Dubai, while Fal Oil was advised in-house.

CAPITAL MARKETS

Pinsent Masons has advised on China Medical System Holdings' (CMS') £65.2m admission to the Alternative Investment Market. The firm acted for Evolution Securities and Evolution Securities China, the nominated adviser and broker respectively. The Pinsents team in London was led by corporate partners Jon Harris and Hanh Jelf while the Chinese team was led by corporate partner Andrew Lui. Hammonds corporate partners Anthony Chan and Nick Williams advised CMS.

REAL ESTATE

DLA Piper acted for Invista Real Estate Investment Management as two of its subsidiaries acquired New London House from Land Securities for £57.2m. Property partner Paul Jayson led the team. Nabarro associate Michelle Salter advised Land Securities.

Nabarro and Macfarlanes have advised Sireo Immobilienfonds and Development Securities respectively on the £35m purchase of 10 St Brides Street, London EC4. Nabarro property partner Marc Franks advised Sireo and Macfarlanes property partner Tim Steele acted for Development Securities, which has arranged funding to develop the property.

M&A

Ashurst and Linklaters have advised on Cerberus European Investments' £204m acquisition of Torex Retail. Ashurst advised Cerberus, led by corporate partner Eavan Saunders and relationship partner Giles Boothman (pictured). The Linklaters team advising Torex was led by corporate partner Stephen Blackshaw and head of banking Robert Elliott.

Mishcon de Reya is advising ACP Capital (Cyprus) on its €33m (£22m) acquisition of a 45% stake in Leasecom Group, the holding company of France's leading independent IT lease broker. The Mishcons team was led by corporate partner Kevin McCarthy. French firm Jeantet & Associes advised Leasecom.

Travers Smith private equity partner Paul Dolman has advised Promethean Investments Fund, which backed the £98m management buy-out of UK financial services company Livingstone Partners. Livingstone was advised by Berwin Leighton Paisner corporate partner Simon Pollock.
