Barclays has unveiled its eagerly awaited new panel, with all the bank's main panel firms reappointed to its coveted main roster.

Mandates for the bank's general advisory panel, which are set to run for two years, have been handed out once again to historical advisers to Allen & Overy (A&O), Clifford Chance (CC), Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters, Lovells, DLA Piper and Simmons & Simmons.

Overall, the bank appointed firms to 10 separate panels, with A&O and CC each appointed to nine of the 10. Freshfields was reappointed to 8 of the bank's specialist panels including litigation, corporate recovery, finance and securitisation. The firm has also secured a place on Barclays' infrastructure roster.

Firms to win new panel places include Addleshaw Goddard, Latham & Watkins, Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy and Pinsent Masons, which all won places on the bank's commercial list. National giant Eversheds – human resources and corporate recovery – and Irwin Mitchell – wealth advisory and litigation – each walked away with two new appointments.

The bank's investment arm, Barclays Capital, will draw its external advisers from the general advisory panel.

General counsel Mark Harding and chief operating officer Richard Daniel led the review, which kicked off in January.

Speaking to Legal Week, Freshfields client relationship partner Simon Hall commented: "Barclays is one of our key clients and we continue to have high ambitions for our relationship with them."

Barclays, which has a legal department of more than 350-lawyers across the globe, is one of the world's largest banks, with more than 120,000 employees and revenues in excess of £20bn.
