M&A
Maclay Murray & Spens corporate partner Hilary Kane has advised UK development company Gladedale Holdings on its £200m bid for housebuilder Ben Bailey. DLA Piper advised Ben Bailey with M&A partner Catherine Simister (pictured) leading.
Travers Smith corporate partner Paul Dolman has advised the selling shareholders of Weststar Holidays on its £83m acquisition by Alchemy-owned Parkdean Holidays. Macfarlanes corporate partner Simon Perry advised Parkdean.
Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw corporate partner Fiona Adams has advised UK chemicals group Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) on its £52m bid for the Dulux paint business in South Africa from AECI. ICI already owns the Dulux brand in Europe and Asia. South African firm Bell Dewar & Hall advised the seller.
Davis Polk & Wardwell New York corporate partner Carole Schiffman has advised UK building materials distributor Saint-Gobain Building Distribution on its £181m acquisition of US rival Norandex from Owens Corning. Sidley Austin corporate partner Lisa Reategui advised Norandex.
REAL ESTATE
Shepherd & Wedderburn real estate partner Nick Ryden has advised Southside Capital on the £60m sale of the Q2 building in Edinburgh's Quartermile development to Norwich Property Trust. Dundas & Wilson property partner Stuart Tait advised Norwich.
Clifford Chance (CC) has advised the London Borough of Ealing on the regeneration of Dicken's Yard. Real estate partner Jonathan Solomon led the team for CC working with Ealing's in-house legal team. Stepien Lake Gilbert & Paling property partner Tim Lake acted for St George West London.
Linklaters real estate partner Joe Conder and construction partner Ann Minogue are advising developer Lend Lease on the £1.5bn regeneration of London's Elephant & Castle. PROJECTS
Hammonds private finance initiative partner Jane Staveley has advised St George's Healthcare NHS Trust on a £60m public-private partnership project to provide affordable housing for key workers in the Tooting region. Beachcroft also advised the trust. Trowers & Hamlins partner Sara Bailey advised the developer Thames Valley Housing. Bellway Homes, which will provide around 140 homes as part of the development, was advised by Vivien Rimmer at IBB Solicitors.
FINANCE
Herbert Smith Paris partner Frederic Grillier has advised HSBC on the financing of the €218m (£146m) takeover of financial information company Fininfo by Financiere Jeulin. Financiere Jeulin and the Jeulin family were advised by Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe corporate partner Arnaud Larrousse and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer corporate partner Bertrand Pellet.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson.
