Lovells has scored a headline role advising on the construction of a new office development in Milton Keynes, in which fellow City rival Denton Wilde Sapte will have a major presence.

The City firm is acting on the deal for longstanding client Goodman Property Investors, which has launched a joint venture with regional developer Hampton Brook for the £65m project.

The 200,000 sq ft site on Midsummer Boulevard in central Milton Keynes was purchased earlier this year from English Partnerships.

The deal saw real estate partner Michael Stancombe lead the team for Lovells, supported by senior associates John Condliffe, Ann Towndrow and Stephen Elliott.

Top 20 City law firm Dentons and accountancy giant Deloitte have already secured pre-let agreements for the site and between them will occupy nearly half of the entire development. Both firms have existing presences in Milton Keynes. Dentons has six partners in the office, which focuses on property, litigation and employment.

Nabarro property partner Andrew Banton acted for Deloitte while southwest firm Clarke Willmott represented Dentons.

The new site, dubbed Pinnacle MK, will include extensive office space as well as two restaurants, 180 underground car parking spaces and 60 secure bicycle bays. Construction work is due to begin at the site later this summer with an estimated completion date set for May 2009.

Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw acted for Hampton Brook, with London-based real estate partner James Dodsworth and solicitor Iain Roberts taking the lead roles.
