M&A
Osborne Clarke (OC) advised management in Gresham Private Equity's £110m buy-out of Betts Global from a consortium including Permira, Royal Bank of Scotland and Bank of Scotland. Corporate finance partner Brian Rutherford led the team for OC while Eversheds London corporate partner Richard Moulton acted for Gresham. DLA Piper corporate partner Andrew Holt (pictured) represented the vendors.
Taylor Wessing advised iimia Investment Group on its £18.6m acquisition of asset manager MitonOptimal Group. London-based corporate partner Peter Kempe led the team for Taylor Wessing, while Macfarlanes corporate partner Rachel Bond acted for the selling shareholders. South African practice Cliffe Dekker provided additional local advice.
CAPITAL MARKETS
DLA Piper has advised UK veterinary services company CVS Group on its flotation on the Alternative Investment Market worth £105.8m. London-based capital markets head Alex Tamlyn led the team for DLA Piper with support from corporate partner Polly Owen. The underwriter, Panmure Gordon, was advised by Travers Smith corporate partner Spencer Summerfield.
FINANCE
Olswang has advised new client Czech Property Investments (CPI) on the €89m (£62m) refinancing of a portfolio of 13 hypermarkets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. International finance chief Michael Benster led for Olswang while Clifford Chance Prague chief Vlad Petrus (pictured) acted for funder Hypo Real Estate Bank.
FUNDS
The London arm of US law firm Kirkland & Ellis advised private equity house Mid Europa Partners on the closing of its £1.05bn Mid Europa Fund III. Funds partner Richard Watkins led the team for Kirkland.
REAL ESTATE
Wragge & Co advised The Walls Group on its £20m acquisition of London Scottish House in central Manchester from Glengall Estates. Real estate partner Huw Roberts (pictured left) led for Wragges while Land Law commercial property partner Paul Grundy represented Glengall and Eversheds property partner Mark Packer acted for funder the Bank of Ireland.
Olswang advised REIT Asset Management on its £400m acquisition from Evans Property Group of a portfolio of 29 industrial, office and warehouse buildings across the UK. Real estate partner Simon Kanter led for Olswang while Allen & Overy London-based real estate partner Robert Porter acted for Evans.
COMMERCIAL
Morgan Cole has advised Raymond Blanc on his contracts and involvement with the two winners of his BBC series The Restaurant. Partners John Cole and Guy Constant led the team on the deal, which sees Michelin-starred chef Blanc oversee the winners' new restaurant in Thame.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
