M&A
Herbert Smith and Dutch ally Stibbe are advising graphic printing service provider RSDB on its €240m (£170m) acquisition of the European printing division of Quebecor World. The combined team was led by corporate partners Marius Josephus Jitta from Stibbe and Will Pearce (pictured) from Herbert Smith. Additional legal advice was given to RSDB by Cuatrecasas in Spain, Schoenherr Rechtsanwaelte in Austria, Castren & Snellman in Finland and Kristom Advokatbyra in Sweden. Quebecor was advised by Linklaters, led by corporate partner Michael Sullivan.
DLA Piper corporate partner Paul Rimmer has advised Stockholm-based Getupdated Internet Marketing on its £15m acquisition of internet marketing business Just Search. Brabners Chaffe Street corporate partner Sam Mabon advised Just Search.
Hammonds commercial and intellectual property partner Patricia Jones (pictured below right) has advised the maker of Scholl footwear, SSL International, on its £14.6m acquisition of Australian orthopaedic insoles specialist Orthaheel. Reynolds Porter Chamberlain head of competition Andrew Hobson advised Orthaheel.
FINANCE
CMS Cameron McKenna corporate partner Niall McAlister has advised biopharmaceutical company Syntaxin on its £16m fundraising. Covington & Burling corporate partner Louise Nash advised the venture capital arm of GlaxoSmithKline, SR One, as lead investor.
CAPITAL MARKETS
Ashurst corporate partner Anthony Clare has advised specialist healthcare group Ark Therapeutics on its £37m listing on the London Stock Exchange. Travers Smith corporate partner Neal Watson is advising Piper Jaffray and Credit Suisse in their capacities as joint sponsors, financial advisers and brokers.
Slaughter and May corporate partner Andy Ryde, assisted by corporate associate Paul Dickson, has advised Marks & Spencer Group on its £1bn repurchase of up to 10% of its issued share capital.
PROJECTS
Bond Pearce property partner Emrys Parry has advised Bristol City Council on the £20m redevelopment of the Symes Avenue shopping development. The project was the result of a partnership between Bristol City Council, the Hartcliffe & Withywood Community Partnership and the South West of England Regional Development Agency – the latter pair both advised by in-house lawyers – and Wm Morrison Supermarkets, which was advised by Gordons managing partner Paul Ayre.

The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
