Eversheds has landed its latest mandate to become the sole legal adviser to a client after winning a tender process at the beginning of the year.

The national firm has been named as sole legal adviser to the Moroccan National Office of Tourism and will provide it with auditing and restructuring advice across its nine existing offices including Madrid, Dubai and Montreal. In addition, the firm will advise on the development of three new offices in New York, Tokyo and Moscow.

The project, which will be led out of the firm's Paris office by African group head Boris Martor, is the latest client to appoint Eversheds as its sole international adviser. Last year Tyco, Samsung and Akzo Nobel all named Eversheds as their primary legal adviser.

Martor said: "This is a significant win for Eversheds' Africa group and for Eversheds as a whole, as various offices will be working for this client. It also highlights that the flow of work from Morocco and North Africa is booming."

Meanwhile, Eversheds is continuing to expand its UK practice with the hire of a senior property partner in its Newcastle office. Mitch Brown will join the firm as a partner from local rival Dickinson Dees and will work alongside development and regeneration group head Stephen Sorrell.

Brown, who specialises in social and affordable housing development, will take responsibility for delivering the firm's affordable housing business plan, leading the firm's growth in this area.
